The mother of a murdered college student, Rachel Muha turned grief into love by establishing "Run the Race," a program that gives meaning and purpose to inner-city children so that they can have a brighter future than that of her son's killers.

In June of 2007, 18-year-old Andrea Blamble became the first Central Ohio Jefferson Award winner to be selected for a National Jefferson Award. The New Albany High School senior was one of five national winners of the 2007 Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Award for Outstanding Public Service. Andrea received the award at the national ceremonies in Washington, D.C.

Andrea, who was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at the age of 13, created a support group for children who suffer from this debilitating disease and has helped to raise more than a million dollars for the Central Ohio Arthritis Foundation. Andrea received her local Jefferson Award in March of 2007.
